Starting May 1st, 2024, all new homes constructed in Victoria must incorporate specific items to secure a building permit. These requirements will align with the amendments to NCC 2022 ( Building Code of Australia) focused on enhancing liveability and meeting 7-star energy standards.

In most cases, the homeowner has little (if any) building knowledge and relies on the builder and contractors to complete the building work in compliance with the Building Code of Australia.
